Diastasis Recti Myths
Diastasis Recti is the separation of the abs from the midline.
It is often misunderstood as being a pregnancy-related issue and can go hand in hand with some form of urine leaking and or pelvic floor issue. However diastasis recti is not just a pregnancy-related issue. Diastasis Recti is a pressure issue (meaning there is too much intra-abdominal pressure in the abs), and there are many men who have it too (meaning it is not strictly a pregnancy issue). There are also many women who have no kids but have a diastasis recti. There are a variety of factors that play into and cause excessive intra ab pressure.
